You'll find many miles of designated carriage driving routes through the forest with spectacular mountain-views and shallow gradients. These routes were once used by drovers taking their cattle to Smithfields Market in London, although we don't recommend that you drive quite that far.

The routes are surfaced with grit and shale and are of a good width to allow passing and overtaking. The routes are all maintained to high standards by members of the British Driving Society.

Stop off at one of the many viewpoints along the way, hitch-up the horses and enjoy a picnic provided by Dan y Parc for a charge of £5.
